Abstract

According to the law of the republic of Indonesia number 26 of 2007 on spatial planning indicates that the government as a public service distribution agency requires a regulation on the arrangement of public spaces for the public or public interest. Based on the observation of researcher on one of the public spaces in Kijang Kota, the author was interested to know how is the governance of Kijang City Walk as a public space in Kijang Kota. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method with informants as many as 10 people and used techniques and data collection tools in the form of observation , interviews and documentation. The result of this research can be concluded that the lack of responsiveness of the Bintan regency government in the case the department of housing and residental areas in the governance of public space in Kijang City Walk. It can be seen in the unavailability of sufficient parking spaces and public toilets so that makes the utilization of public space Kijang City Walk is less than maximum.
