TINGGINYA ANGKA PERCERAIAN DI KELURAHAN KARAS KOTA BATAM

Abstract

Batam is one of the cities in the Riau Islands with the highest divorce rate, one of which is in Karas Village. From the writer's observation, seeing the large number of widows in Karas Village it can also be seen from the divorce data that occurred in Karas with the number of divorce as many as 103 couples. the purpose of this study was to determine the causes that influence divorce in Karas Village by using the theory of gender equality. The method used in this study was a qualitative descriptive method with 7 informants and used data collection techniques and tools in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results found that in this study the high divorce rate in Karas District occurred because there were two factors, namely internal and external relations in the couple's household relationship. Internal factors are one of the factors that cause divorce in Karas where divorce occurs because it is caused by the couple itself. There are three internal factors that cause divorce in Karas, namely economy, disputes and domestic violence. In addition to internal factors, the cause of divorce in Karas is due to external influences or external factors. External factors are factors that are influenced by the environment of the married couple. as for internal factors that occur because of matchmaking and infidelity
