STRATEGI DINAS PARIWISATA BINTAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN WISATAWAN MANCANEGARA MELALUI EVENT IRONMAN 70.3 BINTAN TAHUN 2017-2019

Bintan is one of the areas in the Riau Islands that is in great demand by foreign tourists. In Bintan, various international events are also held, one of which is the Ironman event. Therefore, researchers examine the strategies undertaken by the Department of Tourism of Bintan Regency in increasing foreign tourist visits. This study aims to determine the strategy of the Bintan Tourism and Culture Office in increasing Foreign Tourists in Lagoi through the Ironman 70.3 Bintan event. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study are preparing data instruments, data collection, data analysis and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are the strategies used by the Bintan Tourism Office in increasing foreign tourist visits through the ironman 70.3 Bintan event, namely through the website www.ironmanbintan.com, EDM (Electronic Direct Mail), Email Marketing, Social media, Roadshows, Outdoor advertising and Advertising. PT BRC (Bintan Resort Cakrawala) as a stakeholder for the ironman 70.3 bintan event also carried out several strategies to increase foreign tourists, namely providing stay packages for participants and their families and collaborating with travel agents and other travel partners in promoting the stay packages. The countries that take part in this event are Indonesia as the event organizer, main sponsor, stakeholders and hotel provider. From Singapore, there are Metasport as event designers, New Zealand as sports nutrition provider, United State and Germany as athlete photography.
