DIPLOMASI INDONESIA KE MALAYSIA DALAM MENANGANI MASALAH KEAMANAN PERBATASAN DI WILAYAH PERBATASAN KABUPATEN KARIMUN TAHUN 2018-2019
This thesis describes Indonesia's diplomacy to Malaysia in handling security issues at the border in the Karimun Regency area. The objective that you want to know in writing this thesis is how the diplomacy carried out by the Indonesian government to Malaysia in dealing with security issues in the border area of Karimun Regency. This thesis is written using qualitative methods, namely by collecting data in the form of library analysis which relies on several references in the form of documents, books, journals and articles. Researchers found that the security issue in the border area of Karimun Regency is a problem between two countries between Indonesia and Malaysia where illegal activities and smuggling often occur. So that the Indonesian and Malaysian governments must make efforts and actions to deal with security issues in the border areas of Karimun Regency. The theory used in this thesis is the theory of diplomacy according to G.R. Berridge (2010), border security according to JGStarke (1989: 245) and policies According to Carl Friedrich and using these three theories, it can be analyzed that in solving security problems at the border in the Karimun Regency, the Indonesian and Malaysian governments carry out bilateral relations or diplomacy, namely by carrying out border cooperation called Patkor Malindo, Optimal Malinda and Operations Patkor Kastima. With the holding of this cooperation, it is hoped that the governments of the two countries can resolve security problems in the border areas of Karimun Regency.
