Updating the voter list is an activity to update the voter list based on the Final Voter List from the Last Election or Election and consider DP4 by way of factual verification of voter data and then used as material for the preparation of DPS which is carried out by Regency / City KPU / KIP with the assistance of PPK and PPS . And those who are authorized in terms of updating data are the KPU and its staff, especially PPDP in accordance with PKPU Number 2 of 2017. In this case, a matching and examination is carried out on the voter list received by PPDP to factually verify the voter list. So this study aims to determine the duties and responsibilities of election administrators in providing voter lists in accordance with PKPU Number 2 of 2017 in Chapter III concerning updating voter data. This study uses a normative legal method with a statutory approach. The data source used is secondary legal data. The results showed that there were still election organizer duties and responsibilities that had not been implemented properly according to the rules so that the voter list did not fulfill the three principles in compiling the voter list, namely accurate, current and comprehensive. It started from the research activities carried out by PPDP that were not optimal. Plus the lack of strict monitoring carried out by the Tanjungpinang City KPU. So the legal consequence that arises is the loss of the people's right to vote which also affects the distribution of ballots. This also violates the principles of election administration.
