INTERAKSI KAUM GAY DI MASYARAKAT KOTA TANJUNGPINANG KEPULAUAN RIAU

Abstract

The main problem in this research is to find out how the socialization carried out by gays by using art media as a means of communicating to people and gays who have not yet joined the community or who have already gathered. The socialization that occurs in the community uses communication with symbols to seek the attention of people around them. The socialization process that occurred was not in accordance with the values and norms that apply to the people of Tanjungpinang City. The community is still thick with Adat side by side with Syarak, Syarak with the Book of Allah where the community is still very strong towards things that are closely related to customs and religion. The method in this study uses a qualitative method, with a descriptive approach because the researcher wants to describe the phenomenon systematically, factually, accurately as well as data regarding the socialization of gays in the community of Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands. The data the researchers obtained through interviews using interview guidelines and observations of informants. The criteria for informants in this study are the INGAT Community and artists, and several people who are in art galleries who are directly involved in the communication process of gay people in society. The results of this study found that the socialization of gay people in society is divided into, socialization of gays with the community, socialization of gays within the community, and socialization of gays outside the community. This socialization takes place in the staging of art events in the city of Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands.
