Abstract

Acceptance of new learners is one of the processes in education institutions such as schools that are useful to filter prospective students who are selected according to the criteria prescribed by the school to be the students. In general, the process of admission of new students is done through registration stage, selection test, and announcement of admission of students. But unlike the current ones, because the acceptance of new students is chosen based on several lines, there are zoning lines, achievements and parental displacement pathways. But among all the lines that caused the most problems are the zoning line where the students whose home distance is closest to the school, he was the one chosen to enter the school The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the new student admission policy based on the zoning system at public high schools in the city of Tanjungpinang for the 2019/2020 academic year. The method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach, by collecting interview data with 13 informants with the research location in the state high school of the city of Tanjungpinang. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the learning process is carried out well. However, in the registration process PPDB based zoning There are still some things to note. As well as unallocated lines and socialization done because not all people understand the procedures of implementation and also many still consider the existence of a favorite school in some high school state.
