The current condition of dropping out of school children is very worrying, especially in Gunung Kijang District, Bintan Regency where there are still children who drop out of school, even though it has decreased, there are still children who have dropped out of school. The Bintan Regency Government is responsible for ensuring and fulfilling the basic rights of the community to services and improving education to guarantee the rights of every community to receive education, in order to create a quality society that is advanced, independent, and prosperous by building comparative advantages in each region and supported by the capacity of quality human resources (human resources), in accordance with the vision and mission of development in Bintan Regency. In this case the research is focused on the role of the Education Office. This study aims to determine how the Role of the Education Office on Dropout Children in Gunung Kijang District, Bintan Regency. This study aims to determine the role of the Education Office in reducing the number of children dropping out of school in Gunung Kijang District, Bintan Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach, the type of research is descriptive. Data obtained from in-depth interviews with informants, observation and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively-qualitatively. The results showed that the efforts or role of the Education Office in reducing the number of children dropping out of school in Gunung Kijang District, Bintan Regency, including issuing policies in the field of education, education funding assistance, providing educational scholarships for the poor, poor student assistance programs (BSM), and socialization to Public. Based on the cases found by the author in the field, the factors that cause children to drop out of school are the children's lack of interest in going to school and the weak family economy.
