PERMENKES Number 9 of 2016, one of the health development strategies is to encourage the community to be able to maintain their health, as well as overcome minor health problems independently by using TOGA through independent care abilities, the village of Selatmendaun has an independent care group with the name "Crown of God". Representing Kepri to participate in an independent care competition at the national level. The progress of this independent care group makes researchers want to know the participation of the people of Selatmendaun Village in the Independent care program and the use of TOGA, as well as the factors that influence the community to participate in the independent care program and the use of TOGA. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation, interview and documentation methods, to see community participation, researchers use the Rusidi Theory, four indicators used to see community participation. Participation in the contribution of ideas / ideas did not come from the community, but these ideas and ideas were brought by the Acting Head of Selatmendaun Village because they saw the potential of the people of Selatmendaun Village who had become a habit of planting TOGA plants in the house area, participation in material / financial donations where people bought polytechnic, and also manure for TOGA planting, participation in labor donations where the community and independent care groups contribute energy from mutual cooperation, looking for burning land, looking for TOGA seeds in the forest, cutting wood, and taking care of TOGA, and the benefits of this independent care program are felt by the community from the medicinal side.
