PERAN BADAN PENGUSAHAAN DALAM MENARIK INVESTASI ASING DI KAWASAN FREE TRADE ZONE (FTZ) BINTAN TAHUN 2017-2019

Abstract

Bintan has a free trade area and free port. This is due to geographical specificity which is close to some neighboring countries. However, there are still some problems in attracting incoming investment into the region. hence, the researcher was interested in conducting a research about the role and the strategy carried out by Bintan Area Business Agency to support local and national economies in attracting foreign investment in the Bintan Free Trade Zone. The objectives of this study are 1) to find out the BP Bintan's strategy in attracting foreign investment in Bintan Free Trade Zone in 2017-2019; 2) to find out the obstacles in the implementation of BP Bintan's diplomacy to the prospective investors in the Bintan Free Trade Zone area; 3) to find out the success of the investments in Bintan Free Trade Zone. This research used descriptive method as the research method. The data collection techniques that were used on this research were observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis were, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. The result of this research showed that Bintan Business Agency has an active role in effort to increase the foreign investment. The investment promotion strategy used by BP Bintan is by holding an exhibitions, investment seminars and friendly meetings to introduce the investment potentials and opportunities in Bintan Free Trade Zone area both for domestic and foreign So that the prospective investors will be interested in investing in Bintan Regency, especially icompanies.
