Abstract

This research was conducted at Tanjungpinang Customs and Excise, Tanjungpinang is one of the cities with a strategic location which is very close and directly adjacent to Singapore and Malaysia, which makes it prone to transnational crime so that researchers are interested in conducting research on how the role of Customs. and Tanjungpinang Excise in the prevention of transnational crime from international networks (a case study of drug smuggling at the Sri Bintan Pura Tanjungpinang international port). The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Tanjungpinang Customs and Excise in preventing transnational crime. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques used are in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are that the role and policies taken and carried out by the Tanjungpinang Customs and Excise have been able to overcome problems in the prevention of transnational crime by playing roles such as the role of prevention and supervision by using several methods, and has carried out the role of countermeasures, and the policy of punishment against criminals. but needs to be optimized again
