Abstract

Parenting is a process that is intended to improve and support the physical, emotional, social, financial, and intellectual development of children from infancy to adulthood. parenting patterns that should be given by parents to shape the child's personality are relatively consistent over time. However, with the condition of parents who are more active outside, there is no denying the phenomenon where parents lack attention to their children, so that what the child does, good and bad cannot be controlled by his parents who are busy working outside the home. The method used in the research is qualitative with descriptive approach using purposive sampling technique with the number of informants is six with parenting criteria applied by parents. Data obtained in the research through structured interviews using interview and observation guidelines and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in research are data reduction, data presentation, verification. The results of the research are of two parenting styles namely authoritarian and permissive parenting. It turns out that this form of parenting results in juvenile delinquency
