Pregnancy outside marriage is a case that often occurs among the community. This is an action that is considered to violate the values and norms prevailing in the community, so that the perpetrators often get negative responses from the community such as ridicule and gossip. The main purpose of this research is to describe the phenomenon of unmarried pregnant women who are not married in Senggarang Village and the reasons they choose to stay in their homes even though their existence often gets negative responses from the surrounding community. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive type. Data collection techniques in this study were using observation, interview, and documentation techniques, and the informant was chosen using purposive sampling technique. In this study, the researcher used theori of Social Action from Max Weber to analyzed the result. Based on the results, researchers revealed that unmarried pregnant women who were not married in this study received negative responses from the surrounding community, there were even some communities that limited their relationships with the perpetrators. However, they still choose to stay where they live. The reasons for pregnant unmarried informants who are not married choose to stay in their homes, among others: (1) The absence of strict sanctions, sanctions given by the public are considered relatively mild by the informant. (2) Keeping a disgrace / secret, by staying in his residence the informant considers the disgrace / secret that he is a woman who has an unmarried pregnancy and is not unmarried. (3) Living costs, in this case informants who have children can entrust their children with parents without having to pay a child caregiver, the location of the workplace tends to be closer, and do not need to think about the cost of renting a house because they can live together with parents
