PERAN INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION (IOM) DALAM MENANGANI PENGUNGSI DI TANJUNGPINANG PADA TAHUN 2018 – 2019

Abstract

This research was conducted at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) office in Tanjungpinang city, Riau Islands. The research problem point focuses on IOM's position in Indonesia, IOM's role in Tanjungpinang city in 2018 - 2019 and the obstacles faced by IOM in handling refugees in Tanjungpinang city. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods in this study, where researchers conducted direct observations and documentation in interviews with related informants. There are three theories in this paper, namely institutional liberalism theory, international organization theory and international cooperation theory. Researchers found that IOM has a position as an intergovernmental organization in the field of migration that assists the government in dealing with refugees, both from other countries and from their own country
