Abstract

The proliferation of covert prostitution practices using the Michat application media in the Tanjungpinang area indicates that there are legal issues that have not been carried out. Eradication of disguised prostitution practices online. Online Prostitution Through the Michat Application is the practice of prostitution carried out by women with any male customer in exchange for money. This is done by making statuses, uploading in the form of images, audio, video or other forms of documents as a form of electronic information that is charged with violating decency. The modus operandi is carried out in a well-planned and well-organized manner by ordering a hotel room, guest house or renting a boarding house or rented house to be used as a place for sexual intercourse. In the Michat application there is a media search for friends with the closest location, whether female friends, male or female friends combined (all of them) in the use of the nearest location, it is clearly written the distance between one Michat user and another consisting of hundreds of meters to a distance of Kilometers, with various vulgar profile photos and/or short videos describing the women selling prostitution services and which can be accessed by anyone closest to the user by using the code in the profile and adding the terms ST (Short Time), open BO ( Booking Out), LT (Long Time) or Accept Hotel Calls. The type of research used by the author is a type of empirical normative legal research. Criminal liability for online prostitution through the Michat application may be subject to Law Number 11 of 2008 Amendment Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions Article 27 paragraph (1).
