PERSEPSI WISATAWAN LOKAL KOTA TANJUNGPINANG TERHADAP PULAU PENYENGAT

Abstract

Penyengat Island was nominated as a National Cultural Heritage Area in 2018 by the Prime Minister of Culture and Education, written in the Ministal Decree No.112/M/2018. This Ministral Decree was deciding that Penyengat Island Cultural Heritage Area to be a National Cultural Heritage Area, with land of area 91.15 hectare and and has 46 pieces of Cultural Heritage. With the nomination of Penyengat Island as a Cultural Heritage, it could make the society and tourists think that the tourist attraction places or the transportation vehicles must have a good rating. But unfortunately in reality there is a problem that the society and tourists do not realize when they are visiting Penyengat Island. That problem was starting by the perception of Public Transportation Services where there was an accident of Penyengat drowning boat in 2016 which was causing victim. The Documentary from the local media reports that there was no safety procedure such as life jacket when departing to Penyengat Island using the boat. Six months later there was an aid from the government such as life jacket for safety procedure when departing by boat to Penyengat Island. By this study researcher also sees the reason why tourists still want to go visit the Penyengat Island when there is no safety procedure for themselves. Aside from the perception of public transportation services researcher also sees another perception such as tourist attraction perception, history or culture perception, and the society of Penyengat Island’s perception towards the tourists who visit the Penyengat Island.
