Abstract

People in Mampok Village who believe in the calculation of good days are not only people who have low education, even people who have higher education also still believe in the tradition of calculating good days in marriage. In this study the authors used a qualitative Descriptive type of research. Based on the results of the research, it can be analyzed that the reason the community in the village of Mampok District Jemaja Anambas Islands still believe the calculation of good days in marriage is this belief has been from ancestors, or has been around for a long time. They believe in determining or seeking good days with the advice of all hajat in the wedding party will get good luck, both luck in the smoothness of the event hajatan, luck in terms of sustenance and other luck for the bride and groom. Determining a good day for the people in Mampok Village is one of the main things that must be taken into account before carrying out the wedding. Then the people of Mampok Village think that if the tradition of calculation of good days is not done then it will have bad luck in the future, ordinances in the determination of good days, good days are calculated by elders who are considered very understanding of it, calculated from various things such as the month of birth of both parties, seeing the good month, and other calculations, if not following tradition, especially in the determination of good days , then there will be chaos in the household later, because this is the community finally also believe and do so with the aim of getting blessings in his marriage.
