PERUBAHAN PERAN DALAM KELUARGA PETANI SEJAK ADANYA PT. AIR MINERAL DI GUNUNG LENGKUAS

Abstract

An area whose potential will be utilized by many people to meet the needs of life is Mount Lengkuas, East Bintan District, Bintan Regency. Mount Lengkuas has good natural resources, including fertile land and good water sources. Initially the water source of Mount Lengkuas was used by the community to meet their needs, but later established PT Air Mineral which eventually controlled the water source and used air for farmers on Mount Lengkuas. This study aims to describe the changing roles in farming families since the existence of PT Air Mineral. Through a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling technique, the researcher found that there was a change in the role of the farmer's family. Prior to the existence of PT Air Mineral, farming families had a role in cultivating the gardens and land they owned. After the existence of PT Air Mineral, there was a change in the type of work of the head of the family. Farmer families no longer make farming their main activity. Wife and children change roles to help make a living by becoming traders and housemaids
