STRATEGI DINAS KEBUDAYAAN DALAM MELESTARIKAN BUDAYA DAERAH MELALUI TARI JENJANG (STUDI DESA MENTUDA KECAMATAN LINGGA KABUPATEN LINGGA)

Abstract

Jenjang Dance is one of the traditional theater arts of the people in Ligga Regency, Riau Islands Province, interesting to watch because it combines various elements in it, namely religion, Malay customs, plays, dance moves, song lyrics, vocals, traditional instrumentals, as well as simple but attractive scripts. The purpose of this study was to determine the strategy of theDepartment of Culture towards the preservation of the Jenjang Dance in Lingga Regency. The informants used were 9 people with descriptive data analysis techniques with a qualitative approach. The results of the study can be described as follows in the program indicators, it was found that for the preservation of this Jenjang Dance it has been used as an intangible cultural heritage in 2017, and conservation and revitalization have also been carried out in 2019, but for special conservation programs there has not been made from government, the budget indicator is found that there is already a budgetal located by the government. The conclusion is that the Strategy of the Department of Culture for the Preservation of Jenjang Dance in Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province still needs special attention, considering that ladder dance is the only culture in Mentuda Village, Lingga Regency. It is hoped that the relevant agencies will take special steps in preserving and developing this culture in terms of programs, budgets, and procedures, besides that the participation of the local community is also needed to continue to perform this stage dance ceremony so that it does not just disapp.
