Abstract

Penyengat Island Island has its own historical value and uniqueness. But the phenomenon that occurs in the island of Penyengat Island is still a problem related to the infrastructure there are still roads in the broken Penyengat Island Island, then some cultural reserves are not maintained, access that until now still not adequate because The only means of transportation as access Pompong is still not appropriate safety requirements, many pompok are not safety because it does not provide life jacket ̧ then lack of community participation it is known that the activities are there In Penyengat Island is a little involved even society is not given space to give ideas in the development of tourism. The research methods in this study are qualitative descriptive. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive, in this qualitative descriptive study researchers will provide a systematic, factual and accurate representation of the facts according to the scope of the research. Based on the results of the research on Penyengat Island Image Branding as a religious tourism destination in the city of Tanjungpinang is now in the process of Branding strengthening but there are some things that need to be fixed, such as should the Government of Tanjungpinang not only see from religious tourism but also historically or tour the history of Malay culture in Penyengat Island.
