Abstract

The market or trading place is one of the places where people go to meet the needs of clothing and food or basic needs for household needs. Trade or market is the process of exchanging goods or services from one region to another. Markets or trading places that are not settled or moving are traders who are on the edge of the road who do not have a permanent location, do not have a permanent building, which are commonly referred to as street vendors (PKL). Many traders also come to sell from far away areas in other sub-districts because the area is strategic for trading because it is close to the main market. Some people who open street vendors also choose to take land and settle around the edge of the highway and also around public roads, both for pedestrians and public transportation. In this paper, the researcher uses a qualitative research approach where the research conducted is descriptive, which is a study that aims to describe systematically, factually, accurately about the properties, facts and relationships between the phenomena investigated. The role of the government has been to implement ongoing policies, seeing developments every year has a reduction in the number of street vendors who sell in any place according to the data obtained. People who work as street vendors also have to work together with the government to reorganize areas that are actually not allowed to be occupied for trading. In the use of public facilities, starting from sidewalks for pedestrians and also roads traversed by obstructing vehicles.
