Abstract

The mass media has a very important and strategic role in conveying an event to the public. The
chaotic policy of receiving Honorary Workers in Bintan in 2016 cannot be separated from the role
of the press or mass media. This has led to various public responses to the intended acceptance
policy.
This study aims to explore in depth how the activity of framing the news as a form of public
information communication that has been published in two online media namely BatamTody and
Tribun News. By analyzing news framing assessing syntactic, skirp, thematic, and rhetorical
structure, information will be obtained on how the media conducts framing of news so that they
reconstruct an information to the public. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive.
The object of research is the terms and language style used in every news. Relevant data is taken
from secondary data collected and sourced from several brochure reports, books, magazines and
other related documents. The procedure of analyzing research data is a series of processes of
recording data into text form, conducting initial interpretations of data categories, identifying the
main categories of data collected and writing the final results.
The results of the study, from assessing the syntactic structure obtained by the information
on the online media BatamTody and Tribun News, presented a narrative on public information on a
consistent event which increased the reporting of Honorary reception in Bintan which was
problematic, therefore the narratives in each of the framing of the news remained tended to be
subjective and lacking in awareness. equipped with complete information, and continues to display
a cohesion of issues concerning the existence of problems in the selection process. Research
suggests that good reporting should be fermented well assumptions are not used as factual
reporting, so information and objective conditions that occur can be more factual.
