Abstract

problems that occur in the district of North Bunguran is that the supervision carried out by the provincial government of the Riau Islands is not yet optimal, there are still traditional fishermen who do fishing using drugs in an easy way but the results are profitable, in the district of North Bunguran there is no supervisory community group (pokmaswas) and fishery instructor.
The purpose of this study was to determine the supervision of the Riau Islands provincial government in the use of drugs (potassium) by traditional fishermen in the Bunguran Utara district. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The author uses interview, observation and documentation techniques to obtain data to see the supervision of the Riau Islands provincial government on the use of drugs (potassium) by traditional fishermen in the Bunguran Utara district.
The results of the research conducted indicate that the supervision of the Riau Islands provincial government on the use of drugs (potassium) by traditional fishermen in the Bunguran Utara sub-district has not been carried out, it can be seen from the monitoring, examination, assessment, and observations carried out by the marine and fisheries service of the Riau Islands province. there are still obstacles, the obstacles faced are where the supervisory human resources are limited, the supervisory fleet is still lacking and it is difficult to find evidence of traditional fishermen who use drugs unless caught red-handed
