Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the students' needs for the use of teaching materials on salt hydrolysis for class XI MIA SMAN 2 Tanjungpinang. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection using interview sheets. The subjects of this study were one teacher and ten students of class XI MIA at SMAN 2 Tanjungpinang. The results showed that the use of teaching materials in schools was still limited. The teaching language used is difficult for students to understand because the material is monotonous and the language used is still standard. So that students need teaching materials in language that are easier to understand and include videos and animations so that students are more interested in finding learning information and easier to understand the material taught with these teaching materials.
