ANALISIS KALIMAT EFEKTIF DALAM TEKS EKSPOSISI PADA KARANGAN SISWA KELAS X SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS NEGERI 3 TANJUNGPINANG

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effective sentences in the exposition text in the essays of class x students of State Senior High School 3 Tanjungpinang. The object of this research is the sentence in the exposition text in the essays of class x students of State Senior High School 3 Tanjungpinang. This type of research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used was the personal document technique, namely students' essays.
The data analysis technique was carried out by selecting sentences that indicated effective and ineffective. The results of the research obtained from the exposition text in the essays of class X students of State Senior High School 3 Tanjungpinang contained effective and ineffective sentences. The sentence is not effective because it does not contain effective sentence requirements, namely accuracy, parallels, cohesiveness, economical, and logical. Mistakes that often occur are inaccuracies in using capital letters, lowercase letters, choosing words and punctuation marks. Apart from that, we also found sentences that did not have the same form of words, a mismatch between the building blocks of sentences, inefficient use of words, so that the sentence did not make sense/ logically.
