This research was motivated to see the ability to master Indonesian Spelling of the 2018 Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program students at the Raja Ali Haji Tanjungpinang Maritime University. This type of research is qualitative. The method used in this research is descriptive. The data collection technique is the document technique, namely the assignment of the student Teaching Research Methodology course. The results obtained from research conducted on the Teaching Research Methodology coursework for students of the 2018 Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program at the Raja Ali Haji Tanjungpinang Maritime University with a sample of 64 are spelling errors. This is due to the use of spelling in the Teaching Research Methodology coursework which is not in accordance with the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling. Errors that are often found are errors in the use of periods and the use of capital letters. Errors in the use of periods that often occur are related to how to write periods that should not be spaced before the period and spaced after the period. This error also affects capitalization errors, so capital letters are not used at the beginning of sentences. In addition to the most errors, the researcher also found the use of spelling that was most understood by students so that there were only a few errors in its use, namely the use of quotation marks. However, there are still students who use quotation marks incorrectly, namely, putting a space before the first word in the quotation.##submission.downloads##
