Abstract

This study aims to describe the proficiency of using conjunctions in the text of exposition. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research using the technique of descriptive description test, namely the test using conjunctions in the text of exposition of students of grade X State High School 6 Tanjungpinang. This population is a grade X student of Tanjungpinang State High School 6 who was selected randomly or randomly into 50 students, so that students were obtained as many as 11,12,13 and 14 students per class. The results of the study using each conjunction that is, the coordiantive conjunction obtained a value of 72 at the level of mastery (60-75%) with predicate (Enough), subordinate conjunction obtained a value of 73.39 at the level of mastery (60-75%) with predicates (Enough) and conjunctions between words obtained a value of 53.48 at the level of mastery (55-59%) with predicate (Less Once). The results of the study used conjunctions in the text of exposition of students of State High School 6 Tanjungpinang as a whole of 72.04 at the level of mastery (60-75%) with predicate (Enough).
