Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of students' critical thinking skills on the indicators of conclusion and further clarification in class X SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang on environmental change material.This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The sample used in this study were 112 students of class X MIPA in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. The sampling technique used simple random sampling technique. In determining the number of samples, this study uses a table to determine the number of samples from Isaac and Michael with an error rate of 10%. The instrument used was an essay with 15 items. The indicators in this study are five indicators of critical thinking skills, namely basic clarification with a percentage achievement of 72%, building basic skills by 76%, inference (concluding) by 67%, advanced clarification (further clarification) by 72% and strategies and tactics (strategy and tactics) by 77%. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of class X SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang were in the critical category and the strategy and tactics indicator was an indicator with the highest percentage of 77% and the conclusion indicator got the lowest percentage.
