Abstract

This study aims to analyze comments that violate language politeness including hate speech, wisdom maxim, maxim of generosity, maxim of appreciation, maxim of simplicity, maxim of consensus, and maxim of sympathy. This type of research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques in this study included reading and note-taking techniques, while the data collection instruments were carried out by the researchers themselves, supported by knowledge of politeness theory.
The data analysis technique was carried out by classifying hate speech on comments from internet citizens. The research results from 60 (sixty) data obtained through data collection techniques starting from January to April 2020, there are several hate speeches that are not in accordance with language politeness. From hate speech onaccounts Instagram Indonesia Adil Makmur, the maxim of wisdom hate speech that is most often violated, because internet citizens use indirect speech to make satirical comments, in the comments column and give criticism. In addition, sympathy hate speech was the least violated, because internet citizens did not participate in feeling happy and sad feelings about uploading photos and videos.
