KRITIK SOSIAL DALAM KUMPULAN CERPEN KARYA TRIYANTO TRIWIKROMO

Abstract

This study aims to describe social criticism and literary criticism using the approach of literary sociology contained in Triyanto Triwikromo's Short Story Collection. The method in this study is a descriptive method that is qualitative, namely research that is describing data relating to social criticism in the form of words. This method is used to obtain data with a specific purpose. This method has the steps of data collection, data analysis, and conclusions. From the results of the study found that social criticism includes: social criticism of humanitarian problems, there are still many environments in which human life harms one another, such as committing crime, slaughtering, and even killing someone for unnatural reasons. Social criticism of moral issues, including morals and humans are capable of degrading morals just because of position and power.

Social criticism of the problem of education, the role of teachers in educating children not only in terms of knowledge but the character education also needs to be instilled in students. Social criticism of socio-cultural problems, in general people still believe in old myths and stories. Social criticism of economic problems, there are still many individuals who work with unreasonable salaries, and even have to be forced to survive in the job for the demands of life and responsibility towards many people.
