The Correlation Between Students’ Motivation And Students’ English Achievement

Abstract

This research aimed to know students’ Motivation in learning english. The form of this study is quantitative research. This research intended to find out students’ motivation and students; English achievevement. The subject of the study was the 9th grade of SMPS Pelita Nusantara Tanjungpinang. The technique that the researcher used is correlation technique. During this research the researcher also attempts to investigate correlation students’ motivation and students’ English achievement. The fill in the blank test, the test used as additional instrument. Based on the result, the students categorized into average to good level. the researcher shown that motivation score and students’ English achievement was 8.37 and 2.11. and the result of th shown that Pearson Product Moment Correlation Moment was 1.00 > 0.05. it could be concluded that there are significant correlation between students’ motivation and students’ engish achievement.
