Abstract

This study aims to describe the changes in the form of words that occur due to the process of addition and reduction of the malay dialect of Buyu Rejai Village, Bakung Serumpun District, Lingga Regency. Researchers used qualitative methods, while researcs techniques used descriptive techniques. Data collection technigues using technigues (1) see competent involvement and, (2) note taking technigues. For data analysis researchers do (1) compile information into a collection of writing before interpretingit, (2) analyze the data in the form of reports, (3) summarize the results of the data analyzed, and (4) record the results of the data into the research table. The results of this study are changes in the form of words that occur due to the addition process found the addition of phonemes at the beginning of word (prosthesis), repair phonemes in the middle of the word (epentesis), and phonemes added at the end of the word (paragog). The most phoneme addition occurs in the most phoneme addition occurs in the word (paragraph). The most added phonemes is the [?] phoneme. Changes in word forms that occur due to reduction, there is a phoneme elimination process at the beginning of the word (aferesis), phoneme removal in the middle of the word (syncope), and phoneme removal at the end of the word (apocopy). Phoneme removal occurs at the end of words (apocopes). The most omitted phonemes are phonemes [r].
