Abstract

The lack of use of culture in learning at school makes learning boring and boring for students. This study aims to dig up information on ethnomathematics in hydroponic media farming activities and relate the results of ethnomathematics research to mathematics learning resources based on the school curriculum. This research is a quantitative research of ethnographic design. The data collection technique used was the observation method, interviews with the owner of the Tanjungpinang hydroponic media farm, Mr. Adhex Masdar, and documentation with the main instrument, namely researchers with the help of companion instruments in the form of observation sheets and interview sheets. Determination of data sources in this study using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that: 1) There were mathematical activities in hydroponic media farming activities, namely: measuring activities, counting activities, and designing activities in the hydroponic media agricultural activity process from land design, land creation to hydroponic plant care. 2) There are mathematical concepts in hydroponic media farming activities that are relevant to formal mathematical concepts in schools, namely: flat shapes, circles, flat side spaces, curved sides, comparisons, division operations concepts, fraction concepts, and point-to-point distance concepts.
