Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the evaluation test to identify students' misconceptions so that researchers can develop evaluation tests that are in accordance with the needs of students and teachers. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, namely analyzing the results of interviews and the scope of the material on the needs of the evaluation test. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang in the odd semester of 2020/2021. The research subjects were students of class X MIPA 5, totaling 10 students and a teacher. Collecting data in this research is by conducting teacher-student interviews and analyzing the needs of Core Competencies (KI) and Basic Competencies (KD) related to the material of quantum numbers and electron configuration. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis of the interview results and the relationship between KI and KD so that indicators are obtained for the development of evaluation tests. The results of the research that have been carried out have found that in learning chemistry on the subject of quantum numbers and electron configurations, teachers and students need to develop evaluation tests to be able to identify students' misconceptions regarding the material of quantum numbers and electron configurations. So that teachers can find out the extent of students' misconceptions and improve concepts related to the material of quantum numbers and electron configurations so that the same misconceptions do not occur.
