Abstract

This research aims to describe the type and use of language styles in the collection of short stories Setubuh Seribu Mawar by Yanusa Nugroho. The object of this research is the book collection of short stories Setubuh Seribu Mawar by Yanusa Nugroho. This study uses qualitative descriptive research methods, namely describing a symptom, event, event that occurs whose results are presented in the form of a research report. The research is the researcher himself. In addition, other tools in this study are stationery and books that support the research conducted. Data collection techniques in this study in the form of listen and note techniques. The results of the study found data from four language styles, namely comparative language styles, opposition, linking, and repetition. The most dominant language style in the short story collection Setubuh Seribu Mawar by Yanusa Nugroho is the style of language conflict with the type of hyperbole
