Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of semiotics on icons, indices and symbols in bridal poems in Singkep Barat District, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands. This research method is descriptive qualitative and uses a qualitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out by observation, recording and note-taking techniques to search for quotations including icons, indexes and symbols, then using the data as material for analysis. Data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of the analysis of the data obtained from the semiotic analysis of bridal poems in Singkep Barat District, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands, namely opening verses, nazam poems for mothers and fathers and patting patties of fresh flour found the use of semiotic types of icons, indexes and symbols.
