ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN PENGEMBANGAN BUTIR SOAL TWO TIER MULTIPLE CHOICE BERBASIS HIGH ORDER THINKING SKILLS (HOTS) PADA MATERI ASAM BASA
This study aims to analyze the need for developing two tier multiple choice items based on HOTS on acid-base material. This study uses the test development flow according to the McIntire & Miller, (2007) model which consists of 10 stages, namely (1) defining the test universe, audience and puprose; (2) developing a test plan; (3) composing the test items; (4) writing the administration instructions; (5) conduct the piloting test; (6) conduct the item analysis; (7) revise the test; 8) validation of tests; (9) developing the norms; (10) completting the test manual. In this study, it was only carried out until stage 2. The research subjects were students of class XII science at MAN Tanjungpinang for the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 53 students. Research and initial information collection was carried out by analyzing needs in the form of interviews with chemistry teachers and analyzed descriptively. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the development of HOTS-based two-tier multiple choice items on acid-base material is needed by schools to train students' abilities in solving HOTS-based questions.
