Abstract

Remote identification is a device used to search, find, collect, research, record data and information from an object for remote field needs. One of the long-distance identification applications can be done on the tides and tides. The identification of currents and tides is needed by fishermen so that they can be seen and observed about the state of the sea before the fishermen go sailing. Most fishermen see the situation and condition of the sea only through the eyes of the mainland. Utilization of this technological advancement is in the form of a wireless long-distance identification system which is expected to be able to know firsthand about the current condition of the ocean using Radio Frequency which was tested in Buru District, Tanjung Balai Karimun Regency. The purpose of this study is to design a system of identification of currents and tides for traditional fishermen. This study uses Infrared sensors and ultrasonic sensors to identify currents and tides that communicate between data collection devices and data processors through the 3DR Radio Telemetry Module, each of which is processed by Arduino. The results of the study were carried out 10 times in the Sea Buru District, Tanjung Balai Karimun Regency, it was obtained that the data identification of currents and tides can be sent at a distance of 0 - 300 m. The design of a system for identifying currents and tides for fishermen works according to the research objectives.
