Abstract

The scientific approach is a learning process designed to provide understanding to students with a scientific approach, a buffer solution of one of the materials that require a scientific approach to the learning process so that students involve more process skills than results. In the learning process, practicum activities are still rarely carried out so that students do not understand the concept in depth. As a result, many students still do not know the reason why the pH of the buffer solution, when added with acids and bases, does not change significantly. Therefore, researchers developed a virtual laboratory using a scientific approach to the buffer solution material. The method used is Research and Development with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation ). The research subjects were teachers and students of class XII IPA at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. The results showed that the validation test of material experts was 89.3% and the validation of media experts was 87% in the valid category. The percentage of practicality in small-scale trials was 78.4%, the practicality of teacher responses was 89.5% and the practicality of large-scale trials was 79.6% with practical categories. The results showed that the media developed met the appropriate criteria as interactive learning media on the buffer solution material.
