ANALISIS AMANAT DAN NILAI PATRIOTISME DALAM NOVEL KEPUNAN KARYA BENNY ARNAS

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mandate and values of patriotism in Benny Arnas' novel Kepunan which include the values of courage, the value of self-sacrifice, the value of never giving up, the value of social solidarity, self-confidence and tolerance. The object of this research is the novel Kepunan. This type of research is descriptive used a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used  library techniques, reading techniques and note taking techniques. The data analysis technique was done by the content technique. The results of the research obtained from the novel Kepunan are that there are mandates and values of patriotism, including: the value of courage, in social life we as individuals need to have an attitude of good courage to be brave to advise and express opinions and have the courage to defend a truth. The value of self-sacrifice includes someone who is willing to sacrifice what he has to give to others, both materially and so on and has an attitude that is willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of the State. The value of never giving up, this value reflects an individual who does not give up easily, if he fails to do everything he always tries again. The value of social solidarity covers the care of an individual to his neighbors who are, for example, being hit by a disaster, people who have an attitude of social solidarity will have a sense of the same fate and provide help in terms of virtue.
