Abstract

This research is motivated to see the reading interest of students of Indonesian Language and Literature School, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Raja Ali Haji Maritime University, Academic Year 2020/2021. The purpose of this research is students of class J, K and L. This type of research is quantitative. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire tool. The data analysis technique was performed by testing validity and reliability. The results obtained from this study were that the reading interest of students from 72 samples used was in the category poor, the results of the questionnaire distribution showed that 37 were in the poor category, 33 in the category enough, 1 for the very good and good categories. This is evidenced by obtaining scores obtained with an average interval of 10-55. However, from several aspects used in the questionnaire, there were some students who enjoyed reading novels and websites.
