Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the students' mathematical understanding ability with contextual Examples Non Examples model. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were students of class VIII A of SMP Negeri 5 Bintan in the 2019/2020 school year. The method used is a test and observation. The instrument used was a test sheet and an observation sheet. The results obtained from the contextual examples non examples are based on learning that has been done in accordance with the RPP through the observation sheet. Meanwhile, the most widely obtained score is a score of 4 in the very good category. This means that contextual based examples non examples learning model has a good effect on learning to improve mathematical understanding.
