Abstract

The limited mathematics teaching materials that can develop the independence of students in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to develop a module with a valid RME approach in the maritime context of the opportunity material for class VIII SMP. This type of research is Research and Development using the 4D research model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). This research was only carried out up to the Development stage, namely only up to the validation stage by experts without direct field trials. Data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative through a questionnaire. The instruments used were peer assessment sheets and validation sheets by media and material experts. The data obtained are qualitative data then converted into quantitative data using MSR (method of successive ratings). The validation results of 6 validators showed that the teaching materials developed were declared valid with an average score of 63.7% and were feasible to be tested in the field
