High order thinking skill include the skill of argument, problem solving, critical thinking skills, decision making skills and creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills can increase in learning process pass through using learning model. This research aims to determine the difference in the increase in student creative thinking skills of project based learning model and conventional model on the electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions material. This type of research was a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research were all student of X grade of senior high school 4 Tanjungpinang consisting 0f 10 classes which is 5 classes mipa and 5 classes ips. The sampling technique used is the cluster sampling. The data collection were creative thinking skills test, observation sheet and creative product. The technique of data analysis used Independent Sample T-Test with signification level 5% or (α = 0,05), obtained sig. (2-tailed) of 0,00 < 0,05 which means H0 is rejected. The result showed that there were differences in student creative thinking skills between experimental class that has been applied project based learning and control class that has been applied discovery learning. It can be conclude that the implementation of project based learning is higher than the implementation of conventional.
