Abstract

A good practicum implementation is inseparable from the availability of teaching material, that is practicum guideline used to guide students in conducting practicum activities. The practicum guideline contains procedures for conducting experiments in the laboratory which is expected to direct students to carry out the correct procedures for conducting experiments. Practicum guideline can be developed based on the conditions and situations in learning activities. An appropriate learning model is needed for practicum implementation, namely the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. In this model, students are required to be involved in solving problems, finding new knowledge, and applying the knowledge they gain. The purpose of this study was to produce practicum guideline based on Problem-Based Learning on the subject of reaction rates that are feasible to use. The research model used was Research and Development (R&D). The results of developing a practicum guideline based on Problem-Based Learning on the subject of the reaction rate are very valid. The validator test results for material indicators reached 82%, design indicators reached 86%, small group trials reached 92%, field trials reached 89% and the teacher's response to the Problem-Based Learning laboratory work on the subject of the reaction rate reached 100%. In conclusion, the laboratory work based on Problem-Based Learning on the subject of reaction rates reaches practical criteria and is appropriate to use
