Abstract

Activities that occur in daily life are not separated from mathematics science. Learning Mathematics is not only aimed at learners to understand the material being taught, learners who understand the material that is expected to apply the material taught in his or her life. The purpose of the study was to illustrate the results of analysis of critical thinking skills of class VII students in solving math problems and knowing the cause of lack of infertility critical thinking. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this study is a class of students of VII SMPN 10 2019/2020 in Tanjungpinang, numbering 30 students. Data collection techniques Using test and interview techniques. The data obtained is analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results obtained from this study are the critical thinking ability of class VII SMPN 10 students in completing fractional surgery divided into 3 levels. The first level of learners with high critical thinking ability in resolving problems can meet the critical thinking phases of basic clarification, providing reasons for decision, concluding, further clarification, and alleged stages/alignment (48%). The second level of learners with critical thinking ability is capable of fulfilling the critical thinking phases of basic calrification, concluding, and alleged stage/alignment (35%). The third level of learners with low critical thinking ability can only meet the basic clarification stage and conclude (17%)
