PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN EXPLICIT INTRUCTION PADA MATERI PENYAJIAN DATA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 8 BINTAN

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes by applying the Explicit Instruction learning model in class VII SMP 8 Bintan. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with None Quivalent Control Group. The sample used in this study was class VII-A as an experimental class and class VII-B as a control class that was determined by means of a simple random sampling technique. The learning experiment class applies the Explicit Instruction learning model and the learning control class applies conventional learning. Data collection techniques using test instruments in the material presentation of data in the form of essays and observations. From the results of the analysis obtained an average increase in student learning outcomes of the experimental class by 0.3492, while the average learning outcomes of the control class by 0.2224. The results of sig, (2-tailed) in the independent t-test showed a result of 0.093 with α = 0.05, because it uses a one-party test that is the right party based on criteria 1/2 x the value of sig. (2-tailed) ≤ α H0 is rejected. So that 0.145 ≤ 0.05, which means that the rejection of H0 and receive HI. So it can be concluded that the increase in student learning outcomes that obtain learning models Explicit Instruction learning is higher than those who obtain conventional learning in the presentation of data material.
