Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical spatial abilities of students with PMRI models. this type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research was VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 15 Tanjungpinang in 2019/2020 school year. The methods used are tests, and observations and instruments used are test sheets and observation sheets. The research results obtained for students with high spatial ability tend to be able to imagine, and construct space in the context of a flat shape, and can provide ideas to answer the problem. Medium groups tend to remain in the context of space, but students are still mistakenly going to construct in the wake of space in the context of a flat shape, and students are still confused in understanding what is being asked of the problem. Whereas in low-ability students, students can still be hampered by understanding the questions, are still confused about the problems in the questions, and on the answer sheets students are still mistaken in describing the shapes requested in the problems, so that it has an impact on the final solution which students are still wrong in answering
