Abstract

Mathematics is still considered difficult for most students. That causes the students' mathematical problem solving skills are still low. One reason is the application of learning models that are less precise. The purpose of this study was to see an increase in students' mathematical problem solving skills between students who got the conventional learning model and students who got the AIR learning model. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method. The instrument used in the form of a matter of description, and observation sheets. The material used is the arithmetic sequence and sequence. The population of this study is all students of class X TJK in SMK N 1 Tanjungpinang in the 2018/2019 school year with sample classes selected namely class X TKJ 1, X TKJ 2, X TKJ 3. From the results of the study, an increase in the ability to solve mathematical problems in the class AIR is getting improved. The attitude of students towards the AIR learning model produces the same response which is quite good.
