Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the improvement in mathematics learning outcomes of students of class X IPA of SMA Negeri 6 Tanjungpinang who learned through the Anchored Instruction (AI) learning model was higher than those learned through conventional learning models. This study uses a quantitative approach to quasy experimental research and the Pretest Posttest Control Group Design research design. The samples in this study were class X IPA 1 as the experimental class and class X IPA 2 as the control class determined by the random class technique. Data collection techniques in this study are observation and tests. Data analysis techniques in this study used data description, normalized gain, prerequisite test, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate that the increase in mathematics learning outcomes of students who get learning with the Anchored Instruction learning model is higher than students who get conventional learning.
